IT Consulting & vCIO

Technology decisions with someone accountable for them.

The plan, the budget, and the person who answers for both.

Most 20 to 50 person companies in Northeast Wisconsin make IT decisions one vendor pitch at a time. Our vCIO service gives you a standing technology plan, a three-year budget, quarterly reviews, and a named person who owns the outcome, without hiring a CIO.

How we help

IT Consulting & vCIO, in four parts

A roadmap, not a wish list

Every system, contract and risk on one plan, sequenced by what moves the business and what the budget allows.

A budget you can defend

Hardware refresh cycles, licensing, security and projects forecast three years out, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

Quarterly reviews with the owner

Ninety minutes each quarter: what changed, what is at risk, what we recommend, what it costs. In plain English.

Vendors and contracts handled

Internet, phones, software renewals, insurance questionnaires. We manage the relationships and the paperwork.

Sound familiar?

Does any of this sound familiar?

Every decision is a sales call.

The last three purchases were whatever the vendor on the phone recommended.

Nobody owns the plan.

IT is handled by the office manager, a nephew, and whoever answers the support line.

The budget is a guess.

A server dies, a renewal lands, and the quarter is blown.

Growth is outrunning the setup.

A second location, an acquisition, or a new line of business, and the systems were never designed for it.

We put one accountable person and one written plan in front of all of it.

Line by line

What's actually included

Specific deliverables and cadences, so you can hold us to them.

Planning

  • Technology assessment of every system, contract, device and access path in the first 30 days
  • Three-year roadmap with a sequenced project list and a refresh calendar
  • Annual budget and quarterly forecast, itemised by hardware, software, security and projects
  • Risk register reviewed each quarter, with the owner deciding what to accept and what to fix

Governance

  • Quarterly business review with the owner or leadership team
  • Written policies where you need them: acceptable use, access, backup, incident response
  • Cyber-insurance and customer security questionnaires completed with you
  • Board or bank-ready summary of your technology posture on request

Vendors and projects

  • Vendor management for internet, phones, line-of-business software and renewals
  • Scoping and oversight of projects: migrations, office moves, second locations, acquisitions
  • Due diligence on software purchases before the contract, not after
  • Compatible with an in-house IT lead: we run strategy, they run the day to day

How fast we respond

The same published targets that cover every managed IT client.

P2Something important is broken or crawling.

Targets apply during business hours, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm CT. Initial response is when a human has your ticket and has replied — not an autoresponder. Resolution goal is our target, not a guarantee; complex work sometimes runs longer, and we tell you when it will.

The phone is answered around the clock.

Call at 2am and a person picks up — not voicemail, not an offshore queue. We triage it on the spot.

  • A genuine emergency gets a technician engaged that night. After-hours and emergency rates apply.
  • Anything that can wait goes into the queue for the next business day, and you'll be told which it is.
  • Round-the-clock coverage is available as an add-on for businesses that can't wait until morning — several of our clients run it.
Free technology review

Find out what your IT should cost, and what it should be doing.

  • A 60-minute review of your systems, contracts and risks
  • A written summary with the top three things to fix
  • A first-pass budget for the next twelve months

What owners ask us first

A virtual chief information officer: a senior technology leader who works with your business part time, on a schedule, instead of as a full-time hire. You get the planning, budgeting and vendor oversight a CIO provides, sized for a company with 20 to 50 people.

No. Most vCIO clients are also managed IT clients because the two fit together, but we also provide vCIO to companies with their own IT staff who want strategy, budget and an outside review without giving up their team.

It is scheduled, written down and owned by a named person. A roadmap, a budget and a quarterly review are deliverables you can hold us to, not a conversation that happens when something breaks.

vCIO is a flat monthly fee based on the size and complexity of the business. One-off consulting (an assessment, a project scope, an acquisition review) is quoted as a fixed price. Either way you know the number before we start.

Door County, Kewaunee County, Green Bay and Brown County, the Fox Valley and the lakeshore, from our Sturgeon Bay headquarters and Algoma office. Reviews are in person where practical.

Find out what your IT should cost, and what it should be doing.

A virtual CIO for companies too small for a full-time one: a technology roadmap, a budget you can defend, and someone accountable for the plan.

No obligation. No sales pressure. Just an honest conversation.
